Droitwich Teen Wins Gold at World Transplant Games with support from Nicol & Co

A Droitwich teenager has brought home gold and silver medals from the World Transplant Games 2025 in Dresden, Germany — with help from Nicol & Co’s Community Fund.
Thirteen-year-old Imogen Raxter, representing Team Great Britain, struck gold in badminton and secured a silver medal in the 5km cycling road race at the international event, held between 17–24 August.
This was Imogen’s first World Games, although she has competed in the British Transplant Games since the age of three. Her story is especially inspiring as she received a life-saving liver transplant at just four months old.
Imogen shared:
“To wear the Team GB kit and compete alongside other transplant athletes from across the world was incredible. Winning gold and silver was amazing, but more importantly I want to use opportunities like this to encourage more people to talk to their families about organ donation. Organ donation saved my life, and it can save so many others too.”

The World Transplant Games showcase the power of transplantation and aim to raise awareness about the importance of organ donation worldwide.
Nicol & Co’s Community Support
Imogen’s trip to Dresden was partially funded through Nicol & Co’s Community Fund, which donated £100 towards her costs. The fund is part of Nicol & Co’s ongoing commitment to supporting local people and projects across Droitwich, Worcester, and Malvern.
Dan Westwood, Sales Director at Nicol & Co, said:
“We were delighted to support Imogen on her journey. Her story is inspiring, and her success in Germany is an incredible achievement. She’s done Droitwich, Worcestershire, and Team GB proud – and she’s a fantastic role model for young people in our community.”
Organ Donation Week 2025
Imogen’s achievements come just ahead of Organ Donation Week (22–28 September 2025), which encourages families to have vital conversations about organ donation and how more lives can be saved.
