Residents praise ‘marvellous’ development in Worcestershire village with last few homes to go

New residents on an exclusive estate in a Worcestershire village have praised the “marvellous” development where Nicol & Co are marketing the final three homes.

Retired couple Andrew and Carole Hill moved into their new-build house at Orchards Walk in Harvington village, near Evesham, in December 2022.

They revealed their enthusiasm a week before an open day to show off the final three homes at the development on Saturday 17 February.

Mr Hill, a logistics manager for Peugeot Citroen in Coventry before his retirement, explained he and his wife had moved from The Lenches, around four miles away.

He said: “Our old house was beautiful but had a massive garden, and I can’t quite do the gardening and maintenance anymore, so we thought we’d downsize.

“We looked at a lot of new developments but were very disappointed, as they were massive sites, all the same and cramped together.

“Then we spotted Orchards Walk at Harvington, a village we knew and liked, and we pretty well fell in love with a marvellous house and the site layout straight away.

“Lioncourt offered a real range of properties, with six or seven different types but only 35 homes in total on a site that was nice and small.

“We chose a four-bedroomed house that looked like exactly what we wanted, with a double garage that was important to lock away my vintage car, a 1936 Westminster Austin.

“We bought off plan, but we were able to pop down every week to check on the development.

“Phil Huffer, the site manager, was absolutely brilliant, as was Julie Lee, the salesperson for Lioncourt Homes. They just couldn’t do enough for us.

“There were some things we wanted slightly different, such as the carpets, flooring and kitchen, and they were really so accommodating.

“The house is probably the same square footage inside as our old house, but the garden is much more manageable.

“There’s also no maintenance or DIY needed, with an NHBC 10-year guarantee and Lioncourt two-year warranty giving us peace of mind, all the way down to changing lightbulbs!”

Mr and Mrs Hill are parents to three adult children, all of whom have moved out, married, and a grandchild has now been welcomed into the family.

Mrs Hill, a PA to the director of a security company before retiring, added: “The room sizes are excellent, with a lounge, family room next to the kitchen, two en suites and a family bathroom, plus a dressing room in the master bedroom.

“It really is a lovely house, finished to an excellent standard and quality, with plenty of room for the whole family to come to stay. “It’s also a lovely village, with two pubs, a church, an open-all-hours shop, a village hall and school, and even a mobile Post Office every Friday.”

The three homes remaining at Orchards Walk are:

  • Two properties known as The Rosewood, both five-bedroomed detached with double detached garages and parking, and interior sizes of 2,064 sq ft. One is on the market for £649,995, the other at £659,995.
  • One property known as The Willow, a three-bedroomed, semi-detached house with parking, and an interior of 1,241 sq ft, on the market for £349,995.

Hayley Knight, marketing manager at Nicol & Co, said: “It is so wonderful to hear how much Mr and Mrs Hill love their new home!

“This is a really special development, as would be expected from Lioncourt Homes, a 5-star housebuilder who make sure all their homes are thoughtfully designed and built to a fantastic finish.

“With just three properties left, I would urge anyone interested to come along next Saturday and have the opportunity to view the remaining homes and this beautiful development for themselves.”

The open day for potential buyers to view the above properties runs from 9am to 3.30pm on Saturday 17 February.
